NCIS is about to be spunoff. Yes, again.
Years after the original CBS hit spawned a series in Los Angeles, and months after the network passed on a spinoff of that spinoff, it has been confirmed that a backdoor pilot will air this spring that introduces viewers to a new crew of agents in New Orleans. It will be produced by Gary Glasberg and Mark Harmon.
According to Deadline, the NCIS: New Orleans office will handle investigations from Pensacola through Mississippi and Louisiana to the Texas panhandle.
NCIS is the latest in a very long line of shows to spawn spinoffs.
Chicago Fire has beget Chicago PD; Pretty Little Liars will soon lead into Ravenswood; Courtesy of The Vampire Diaries, The Originals premieres on October 3 and AMC announced this month an upcoming spinoff of The Walking Dead.
The NCIS Season 11 premiere, which will bid farewell to Cote de Pablo as Ziva, airs tomorrow night.
