Damon Salvatore briefly served in the Confederate Army, but deserted before the conclusion of the Civil War. Still... he looks great in uniform, huh?!?
3. Bill Compton
Bill Compton was a soldier for the Louisiana division of the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He was turned into a vampire on his way home.
4. John Winchester
Sam and Dean's father on Supernatural took on enemy humans before he took on monsters. He spent time as a member of the Marines.
5. Jimbo Kern
Jimbo Kern, Stan's uncle on South Park, was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and eventually got promoted to sergeant.
6. John Watson
On Sherlock, John Watson somewhat recently returned from British military service in Afghanistan. He was wounded there and suffered from a form of PTSD before teaming up with his investigative pal.
