CBS is making some big changes as it heads into the 2018-2019 season.
The network today announced its fall schedule, and while there is stability on some nights, there are big changes on others.
With Kevin Can Wait and Superior Donuts canceled, Mondays will go back to having a one-hour comedy block, followed by two dramas.
In fact, the Monday night line-up will be dominated by two hours of new shows. The Neighborhood has been granted the lead-off spot, leading into Happy Together.
The highly anticipated Magnum P.I. reboot has landed the 9/8c hour, and that will lead into Bull, which will replace Scorpion. Yes, that's a big shake-up, but will it be enough to compete with the other networks?
Quite possibly.

The only change on Tuesdays is in the 9/8c hour. FBI will move in since Bull is on the move.
Wednesdays are unchanged with Survivor, SEAL Team and Criminal Minds keeping their slots from the 2017-18 season. All three turned in respectable ratings, so they were widely expected to stick together.
The only change on Thursdays is that the Murphy Brown revival will take over for Life in Pieces, which returns at midseason. The biggest surprise is that Murphy Brown didn't get the 9/8c slot.
However, Mom has been rating well in that slot over the last few years, so the network is likely looking to see if Murphy Brown can give S.W.A.T. a boost.
Fridays are unchanged, and that makes sense when you consider the stability of the shows throughout the season.
On Sundays, God Friended Me will fill in for Instinct, which is expected to return at midseason.
“When you have a primetime lineup that won the season while competing against the Super Bowl and the Winter Olympics on another network, you look to keep your core schedule mostly intact, while making strategic moves to help grow nights,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment.

“We’ve maintained stability across winning nights while adding some important new pieces to our Monday night lineup.
"And, next year, we’re positioned to build on this success with the addition of these exciting new shows and primetime events, such as ‘The AFC Championship Game,’ ‘Super Bowl LIII,’ ‘The Grammy Awards’ and the NCAA Final Four.”
