Diona Reasonover is not done with NCIS yet.
Per Deadline, the actress has been promoted to a series regular ahead of NCIS Season 16, and we have to admit, it's one of the most predictable casting decisions of late.
Reasonover first appeared on NCIS Season 15 Episode 17 as Ducky's graduate assistant, Kasie Hines. She subsequently helped the team on a case following Abbey's (Pauley Perrette) departure.
Given the similarities in between the job Abbey did, it was only a matter of time before it emerged that Reasonover would be sticking around on a more permanent basis.
If you watch NCIS online, you know that Kasie helped Ducky pen his memoirs, so she is in the loop about past cases the team has solved.

If that's not enough experience, then we don't know what is.
It will certainly make for a different dynamic without Abby when NCIS Season 16 debuts, but some shows require a change every so often to make them feel fresh and exciting again.
Reasonover joins a cast that includes Mark Harmon, Sean Murray, Emily Wickersham, Wilmer Valderrama, Maria Bello, Brian Dietzen, Rocky Carroll and David McCallum.
NCIS Season 15 continued the show's downward trend, averaging 13 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49 in live + same day metrics.

There are also some changes on Tuesday nights this fall on CBS. Bull, which has aired out of NCIS for two seasons, will be sent to the revamped Monday line-up.
In its place, Dick Wolf's FBI will take up residence in the 9/8c slot out of NCIS.
